Q:- A car travels with the following speeds with the following durations:
[1] with 20 kilometers/hour for 9 hours
[2] with 9 kilometers/hour for 7 hours
[3] with 7 kilometers/hour for 7 hours
[4] with 3 kilometers/hour for 4 hours
[5] with 11 kilometers/hour for 4 hours
[6] with 5 kilometers/hour for 5 hours
[7] with 18 kilometers/hour for 3 hours
[8] with 5 kilometers/hour for 2 hours
[9] with 10 kilometers/hour for 4 hours
Find [1] total distance travelled , and [2] average speed

Distance travelled in each duration is as follows
[1] 20x9 = 180 kilometers
[2] 9x7 = 63 kilometers
[3] 7x7 = 49 kilometers
[4] 3x4 = 12 kilometers
[5] 11x4 = 44 kilometers
[6] 5x5 = 25 kilometers
[7] 18x3 = 54 kilometers
[8] 5x2 = 10 kilometers
[9] 10x4 = 40 kilometers
Total distance travelled = 180 + 63 + 49 + 12 + 44 + 25 + 54 + 10 + 40 kilometers
= 477 kilometers

= 45 hours
mean speed = total distance / total time
=> mean speed = 477 / 45 = 10.6 kilometers/hour
