• Q. :- Find the formula of area , and actual area of Obtuse triangular ground ABC , obtuse at angle B. BC = 14, and the perpendicular distance from A to BC = 11. Share to Whatsapp

  • Draw AD perpendicular to BC. so ADB and ADC are two right angled triangles
Area of ABC = Area of ADC - area of ADB
    = 1/2 x AD x DC + 1/2 x AD x DB
    = 1/2 x AD x ( DC - DB ) = 1/2 x AD x BC
So Area of An obtuse triangle = 1/2 x Perpendicular length x Base length

  • Draw AD perpendicular to BC. so ADB and ADC are two right angled triangles
Area of ABC = Area of ADC - area of ADB
    = 1/2 x 11 x DC + 1/2 x 11 x DB
    = 1/2 x 11 x ( DC - DB ) = 1/2 x 11 x BC
    = 1/2 x 11 x 14 = 1/2 x 154 = 77
